Zoom h4n - onboard microphones. This recording was captured in the city of orange in orange county, california. This is located just below los angeles and less than a mile from disneyland in anaheim. This is an extremely clean recording of a sudden cloudburst that turned in to a torrential downpour on december 28, 2020. The peaks are all very close to 0db. I opened the sliding glass door to our balcony and placed my zoom h4n as close as possible to the rain without destroying the recorder. What resulted is an amazingly layered rain track. This is because rain can be heard striking multiple surfaces such as a tree, a metal table, the cement balcony, etc. . . There is not much thunder (that's rare in this area) but if you need a few dramatic thunder claps they can be found at the following times one the file is downloaded. Note: that the rain decreases in intensity near the end. 8:09 - 9:37 - 10:31 - 11:20. - christopher.

Any thursday. . . It was about 1:00 am and i got my handy recorder zoom h4n with me. Then i realized i found very few sounds here at freesound. Org of steps for videogames. . . So i decided to record some. They have "so much personality", with keys in the pockets (you can notice them on the run), a dog barking when i run, and the sound of the street at night. It may not be 100% clean (for example, wind affects a little to the beggining of the run), but i think it's enough to emulate a videogame in a short film or something. I turn around once when dog is barking, you can notice the bark panning from left to right channel.

Old session file. Check out the session here: https://www. Youtube. Com/watch?v=rk40_lg_vws. Went to the local grocery store to do some stealth recording for my library. This time i promised my self to make my cuts more musical, you guys know, good outside (or) inside recording can be esthetic in many ways. When you walk around and listen carefully, you can hear music everywhere. When i got home i began chopping, an then i realized i could turn this mini recording session into some cool loops as well. I think its a good way of practicing sound design(or anything musically), to just limit your self some times. Basically got the idea when i was studying musique concréte. (concrete music). Could upload the samples if some one is interested?. I used no effects at all, no panning (stereo recordings) or no limiters/compressors. Some of the recording where made by using binaural microphones. I recorded everything with my zoom h4.

(recorder: zoomh4npro 2018)(microphones: binaural roland cs-10em in-ear monitors). As these are recorded using binaural in-ear mics, i purposefully don't turn my head to keep the sound clean and coming from the same direction. This was recorded in the burbank town center food-court area. I was careful to avoid specific conversation for legal purposes. There was a cranky baby nearby, so you get an occasional frantic cry. This would be perfect for any project taking place in a large, public center with a tile or stone floor and lots of movement. Enjoy,. Christopher c. Courter.

Synthwave, a lubed wobble dance. I took synthwave vibe loop from sss_samples and added some afro percussion, strings and wobble bass and turned this 80's disco flashback into a slightly more jiggy and definitely lubed up and wobblized. . For best experience, make sure you:. * don't look at the sound waves (the sound display) at all!* are in a pitch black dark, closed room. * for ultra feeling, turn up the volume to 100% and set the bass to maximum if you have good speakers! otherwise put on headphones with volume 100% (which should be high but normal gaming volume). * immerse yourself. --------------------------------------------------------------. This was produced by tapping on a stethoscope which had an earbud pressed against a shure sm57 mic. Low pass filter applied, as well as compression and a gate. Chorus added. Used a recording cassette deck as a preamp going into an m-audio audiophile usb soundcard. Note: if you're having problems listening to this clip, the cutoff frequency of your speaker set may be too high(solution: new speakers). The signal strength exists almost entirely in the very low frequencies, so you may need a sub-woofer to hear it. Otherwise, try turning your speaker volume all the way up. Doing so may saturate the signal and at least allow you to hear the harmonics of the signal caused by the distortion. I don't recommend it, but you'll at least maybe be able to hear something.

Large river rapids running strongly after winter rain. Recorded approximately fifty feet above water level. The river flows and turns through a narrow, high, partly exposed bedrock canyon which likely amplifies the sound of the rapids. The first nine seconds are unedited. The last two seconds have a fade out applied. In summer you can walk where the centre channel is in winter, so this is a lot of water moving swiftly down the cowichan river to the salish sea. Also see the companion audio posting "river-canyon-waters-edge-bottom-step. Wav" taken below the height of this recording. Recorder: zoom h1 n. Audio quality stereo 48000 hz.

August, 2nd 2013. About eight and a half minutes worth of summer evening ambience, with crickets and cicadas leading the evening songs. Nothing too eventful, but a nice finish to a great day. Recorded at 48khz, 24 bit. Stereo pair of behringer c-2s (cardioid). The mics have an on-board 3-position switch, with labels "flat," "low-cut," and "-10db. " the switch was set in the -10db position (whoops!). It is unclear if this position also activates the low-cut. Additionally, a 24db/oct low-cut applied in pro-tools at 80hz to clean up a slight wind ruffle. Since it was late at night, and the rest of the family was in bed, i opened my window and placed the microphones (almost) right up against the screen. The a/c unit you can hear is directly below the window. Around the 4:45 mark, the digital thermostat hit a programming mark and kicked the air conditioner back on. Roughly one minute later, i adjusted the thermostat to turn the unit back off. Location: suburbs of atlanta. Free to use whenever and wherever! i'd be interested to hear/see where you use it!.

This is a sound i created for the first season of get up, pierrot. It was used in one of the first episodes for an atm sound and it has been our most used sound in the series so far! i made it by using a combination of different party blowers and layering them. This is free for anyone to use but i would really love it if you could email me the uses so i can admire it and keep an active list in the soundcloud information. Getuppierrot@gmail. Com i'd love for this sound to become the wilhelm of party blowers!!! and we'd really love it if you could join us in the game on instagram @getuppierrot. Welcome to "get up, pierrot"this is a "choose your own adventure" style animated series. Viewer participation is through ig polls. There i was late a night. I was turning my computer off after editing my site. I was silenced by night. But there was a storm a brewin' i opened my bedroom window and put my ear to the icy wind. I knew then this wasn't the usual mellow wind. I ran down the stair with my zoom h4n equipped, went through the garage into the black of night. I sent my gain levels to 60 and with only a foam wind shield i put it between to to boards of wood to act as a wind shield thus allowing my to capture the wind slicing through the trees. With only adjusting the gain levels slightly in post nothing else been done, allow you to add you own effect on it.

The guest room i am staying in has a tile bathroom. Each time i take a shower, i hear this magnificent hum of the water heater clicking on and then turning off once the shower water is stopped. I was fortunate enough to hear it click on while i wasn't in the shower and captured about 30 seconds of it before it died. Infinite variation, impossible to replicate. At the end, as the water heater shuts down, it clicks down into the lowest ranges of the frequency spectrum; i didn't hear it until i listened to the recording but the couple of seconds of that are just as magical. Wish i would have left the recorder running!. Captured with a zoom h3-vr to ambix format at 96k24bit and bounced to stereo. Processing: 24db gain to all 4 clips, izotope spectral denoise to get rid of the air in the room and izotope ozone to enhance the bass signal a touch. Enjoy!.

A ghost comes out of a mirror, for a stage production i'm working on. This sound was created by combining the following sounds from freesound (links at the end):. Klankbeeld's "horror ghost 38" and "horror ghost 39"ross63moose's "glasschimes for freesound"wolfsinger's "weirdbreath"and themfish "glass house2" (which in turn is a combination of alcove audio's "bobkessler-break glass", schluppipuppie's "tsch - 02", "glass break" 1 through 5 from rhumphries "glass pack", gezortenplotz's "magic_mirror_crash", and herbertboland's "cinematicboomnorm"). Retro, slipping!. A slip with a retro-feeling to it, for example when the player character has walked on a trap and slipped. In other words - an unexpected slip! maybe the player character walked on a banana, or on soap?! or maybe the player character ran too fast?. Just to play with the idea even more - maybe the player character ran too fast but quickly managed to turn to opposite direction?!. The amtrak pacific surfliner winds it'd way up and down the pacific coast coast. This train is known for spectacular coastal views. Here you can hear this high-speed train come screaming through burbank's downtown station (traffic can be heard on i-5 in the distance). You will hear a security guard walk behind me just before the train comes through. He was one of our trusty transpo officers making sure i wasn't up to no good with my zoomh4n device. Thanks for keeping us all safe officers!. The train makes a pass from right to left and i kept recording so you would have some room-tone at the tail. Enjoy!. Christopher c. Courter.

I was just going through my sounds, when i decided "hey. . . I'm gonna release this. " so here you all go! i'm really proud of how this turned out. This, as you can tell, is a deep eerie ambience loop. It can be used for anything you want. I like to leave things up to the imagination of the audience. How it was made:. Software used:-fl studio 20-harmor-harmless-fruity parametric eq 2-valhallaroom. So basically what i did was get a low pitch sawtooth waveform, put it through some effects like harmonization, a low pass filter with high resonance, a phaser, and a load of distortion. The main synth is made with harmor. (yes, this is all one synth. It just has a lot of dynamics. ) i then processed it with some eqing. What made this sound what it is would be the reverb. I put 2 layers of valhallaroom on the synth. One has a very short decay time, and gives it texture. The other gives it the atmosphere. To add some more depth, for the final touch, i layered a sub-bass underneath it. Which is just a low sine-wave with reverb on it, which i used harmless to make. I hope you enjoy this!.

As a homage to freesound. Org for being a member for over 7 years under the name "djeuphoria", i present the freesound community with some unique sounds i've created recently using loads of different plugins and synthesizers that i've been acquiring over the years that has slowly turned into a massive collection. So with that being said i'm going to be periodically adding sounds to my "dream sample pack" so you can all hear the sounds i've been creating under my new nickname "dream", thank you all for the downloads, its awesome to see how terrible my sound quality was and how much i've improved from that, enjoy these awesome synth sounds i've engineered, cheers. -dreamp. S, most of the melodic sounds are recorded in the key of c for convenience and all foley sounds are recorded with a zoom h4 at 44khz.

I recorded this today (1/12/23) from atlanta, where we had a bunch of heavy rain and tornado warnings this afternoon. The radio station i recorded this from is am 750. The first part of the recording isn't very interesting, but the part where she started talking about how you can't see any tornados coming was really interesting to me. I think this would make for some really good ambience in like an environmental horror track. I decided to include the whole recording anyways in case anyone wanted it. Here's the backstory to this thingey if anyone really wants it:we were on tornado watch as i was speeding trying to get home from work, when the sirens started to go off. I had to pull into a disheveled looking parking garage, as that was the closest place i could get to. The garage only had one level, so i had no way of getting to lower ground. I sat there in my car, terrified that i might be stuck there, in a shitty parking deck, in the middle of a giant ass storm, with very little cell signal, for hours on end. I decided to turn on my radio and record it from my phone. Fortunately, i was only in there for 30 minutes, and i managed to get home after the rain cleared up a bit.

As these are recorded using binaural in-ear mics, i purposefully attempt not to turn my head to keep the sound clean and coming from the same direction. Of course, if you don't want binaural audio you can always easily convert to mono. This is a recording of me approaching a soda machine in my apartment complex, swiping my credit card in the new, handy-dandy credit card slot, and dispensing a coke zero (in case you really needed to know). Safe for all production as it is voice free. I kept the peaks very low to maintain a natural sound. Enjoy!. Christopher c. Courter.

This was recorded by holding a small pcm recorder (zoom h1n) very close to an ipod 4th generation. The ipod was turned on and its hard drive tried to start up. You can hear the spin up of the motor and the hard drive head clicking back and forth. The hard drive fails to power up completely and eventually shuts down again. A 350 hz high pass filter was applied, in addition to audacity noise reduction, to get this clean motor noise from the original recording. The stereo file was then mixed to mono because the mic was slightly off center from the ipod, and the stereo provides no benefit. The hard drive in this ipod is a 1. 8" 40 gb toshiba hard drive, the ipod model is a1059. The microphone was held just 3 cm (1. 2 in) from the ipod. Recording settings were stereo 44. 1 khz at 16 bit (wav format). The file is the same except it's mono.

Another bahai prayer in farsi recorded at home on a minidisc of a friend of mine singing the following prayer: (translation)o thou art turning thy face towards god! close thine eyes to all else, and open them to the realm of the all glorious. Ask whatsoever thou wishest of him alone; seek whatsoever thou seekest from him alone. With a look he granteth a hundred thousand hopes. He healeth a hundred thousand incurable ills, with a nod he layeth balm on every wound, with a glimpse. He freeth the hearts from the shackles of grif. He doeth as he doeth, and what recourse have we? he carrieth out his will, he ordaineth what he pleaseth. Then better for thee to bow down thy head in submission, and put thy trust in the all mercifull lord. The language is old fashioned because the bahai have special requirements about maintaining the integrity of their texts. It is a verbatim quote from an english prayer book. In farsi, for instance, i believe that the masculine gender of god is absent and is really non-specific.

The "annoying" speed chime, turned world famous drift hero by initial d; as it was intended to be heard by the toyota motor corporation. A common issue with these chimes is that the second impact is muted by the impact rod, this was mitigated in this file by holding the chime with a specific side up. This is marked by the second bell properly ringing out after the second impact. This rendition is a pre-timed, loopable, clean version of the chime, recorded from a real imported 86640-12070 "king kong" (kin-kon) chime. Sound created by attaching a power supply set to 12v ~0. 35a in an amateur studio. Like many of my files, these are completely free to use without even giving credit! :) my only request is you tell me where you use them!. These are also called 「速度警告チャイム」(sokudokeikoku chaimu) meaning "speed warning chime" and colloquially 「キンコンチャイム」 (kinkon chaimu) literally derived from the "kin-kon" sound it makes. Dream on‼.

This is the original 8-second drum loop that i ran through akaizer for my "sci-fi ambient drone" upload. It's creative commons cc0, so please treat it as public domain. You can use it in any commercial or non-commercial media for free, no restrictions. I took a quick 8-second drum loop from my teenage engineering po-33 (ko) and ran it through a free time-stretching/pitch-shifting program called akaizer. This program is based on old samplers like the akai s1000 that had extremely artifact-heavy time-stretching and pitch-shifting features. If you slow a sound down enough, the final product tends to sound harsh and electric. Akaizer turned my 8-second drum loop into 2 minutes and 38 seconds of harsh, bassy noise. As you can hear from my other uploads, the results are so different it's almost unrecognizable. Definitely worth trying yourself!.

Featured in the game 'noclip vr'!! thank you so so much, reality games online!. This is heavily inspired by the urban myth and/or creepypasta called the backrooms, which have a very distinct atmosphere to them. This is my interpretation. However, this isn't exclusively for backrooms-related stuff! so by all means, if you're simply in need of some interior ambience of any sort, that's also why i made this for you. No advanced processing was used to achieve this sound. I recorded an electrical box in my garage for the buzzing. For the 2nd layer, i turned on some fans in my room, and made a long mono recording of the white-noise. I then split the recording in half, and used each half for the left and right channel, giving it a stereo sound. I then spent an hour leveling all of it because i'm a perfectionist. Yay. Hardware & software used:-audacity-zoom h4n pro (buzzing)-rode nt1 (fan-noise).

Circle of 5ths loop compiled on a 2015 macbook pro using field recordings. Tempo / time sig:24 bars of 3/4 timing with each bar lasting 2. 5s. Or 12 sets of 6/8 at 5s per bar with a total length of 60s. Filters:hipass pumped at 60hz, -5db. Lopass pumped at 1200hz at -6db. Delay set to 0. 05s at 600hz with a 60% wet mix. Arranged with the tonic 5th as a constant with the last (fifth) 5th in the circle, starting and ending with the tonic. Second 5th enters in 5s, third in 15s and the fourth in 25s as the fifth stops. The fifth 5th begins to fade back in after 10s of silence, which begins the process of the second, third and fourth fading out in that order. The fifth 5th is at full volume as the loop turns, as is the tonic. The mood changes noticeably as each consecutive 5th begins, and changes again as the following 5th joins the loop.

I found this old c-60 cassette labelled "xx" in a local thrift store. (i like to collect found sound recordings-- sometimes there's some pretty weird stuff!) well, it turns out i found some guy's old tape recording involving him having sex while blasting some awful anne murray cover album. . . The recording is the post-sex dialogue, right after that final song fades out. . . At the end, the woman asks something like "are you going to get your tape recorder?" and the guy seems to become flustered, saying something like "i wasn't recording, it's off!" (i'm paraphrasing. ) i guess he thought she realised he was recording it or something. Anyways, after this, the recording is cut off. You can also hear a toilet flush, and some sort of "squeaky toy" noise during the recording. Recorded direct to soundcard, playing back the tape on a cheap hand-held cassette player. Edited w/ compression to reduce peaking.

This is the first recording in this pack from inside a traditional, working old dutch windmill, called de lelie - the lily - in the picturesque dutch village of eenrum. This mill was used to grind grain. There was a strong northwesterly breeze straight from te sea, so the sails of the windmill were in full swing, this morning on saturday may 14th. The dominant sound you hear is the sound of the so called “schuddebak”, litterally translated as “shaking bin”. This is a device in the form of a large wooden shovel which is tapping against the turning millstone in order to distribute the grain equally along the millstone. On the background you hear the millstone itself. On the second recording in this pack, the millers had detached the schuddebak, so the sound of the millstone is more dominant in that recording. This windmill is now a small museum. Admission is free, so everyone can admire this proud dutch windmill heritage which reclaimed half our country from the sea and gave us our daily bread. Thanks to the millers fort heir hospitality and cooperation!. (i used an iphone with a zoom iq5).

Damaged smartphone screen protector being broken and crushed in bare hands (should've used gloves. . . ). Recorded with behringer b-1 microphone into focusrite scarlett 2i2 3rd gen. Into audacity on arch linux at 192 khz/24 bit. The recording was not processed or edited in any way to retain maximum flexibility to sound artists who will use this as an element. This can be useful as a sound effect for freezing or burning or deep-frying or even rain (when slowed down). Thanks to extremely wide frequency range the recording can be cleanly slowed down up to 25% speed. There's clean frequency content up to 80 khz in the recording. In a few places the mic gain was too much and a pop is clipped, but could still be useful for sound of braking or snapping something (bone?). No denoising was applied - perform your own if needed, though the sounds are mostly free of background hum (a bit of pc noise can be heard in the first minute before i turned down the gain).

This is a sound of a mercedes benz 709d mini bus driving on a really hard icy road. It was a rattly old bus, everything squeaked and rumbled on it. I videoed this journey with my canon powershot a460 digital camera, i simply took the sound from the video. It's a good sound, it turned out well thanks to the winter weather, and the rough icy road. Please note, anybody is free to use this sound, you don't have to credit me, but it would be fun to hear how you use my sound if possible. :) here is the link to the type of licence i use. Hi. This soundfile was recorded on 03. 06. 2017 in szczecin, nw poland (gumience district to be precise). The time of this recording is from around 3 a. M. (when the sun was allready rising) till around 7:30 a. M. What's funny about that, is that i turned my recorder on and layed it on the windowsill (display up) on altitude around 5 meters (first floor), (the recorder is facing ne direction) because the birds were allready going crazy!, and after some time i felt asleep, and the recorder was left on. There are many many kinds of birds around, cause there is a big cementery near by, with lots of trees, and some wild fruit orchard too. I had this one moment, when the birds were so active, that let's say they spinned it me around, and worked me up to a beautifull spiritual moment with their sounds, and then i felt asleep. Later through the recording you can hear me snoring, you can hear my alarm clock going on (and that haven't woken me up too;). The bass resonance of cars passing by makes this recording a bit heavy in some places, and the wind made it's mark too, but that shoudn't be a big of an issue here. As i listen to it now, so much things happened while i was asleep. . . [ 3:30 a. M. !: some people are singing and speaking, and you can clearly hear one of them saying: "kurwa, grubo", which means - "f**k, heavy". Later on, the neighbours weren't sloppy too;). Hearing such recordings doesn't give you the liminous feeling of the place where it was recorded. You only get audio here, not the vision, the light, the brightness, the movement, the actions, and the space, the physical elements, only the best can imagine (so if you don't have such an imagination, pm me and i can send you a photo of the place where all this took place). Anyway, i hope that the birds will keep rockin' their solos, and the bees will keep visiting all the flowers around forever! (who knows, i might become one of them sometime;). Thanks and have a good listening session. Szymon.

Trying to start a 1983 volvo 245 after a stop at a gas station. First we hear the seatbelt warning signal after the driver turns the ignition on. The first start attempt fails. The two following attempts fail because the starter fails to engage with the flywheel, creating a very loud and unpleasant sound. There is some reverberation from the metal roof of the gas station. At 00:24, the driver remarks "he's doing it again!". The fourth attempt succeeds in starting the engine after a rather long cranking. We then drive off and we also hear some squeaking from the steering wheel. Throughout the recording we hear breathing noises from the driver (80 year old man, smoker). The recording was made in the front passanger seat with the window open, that's why there a very noticable difference between the left and right channel. Recorder: edirol r-09, 48khz wave/24-bit, cropped with cool edit pro, re-saved as 48khz wave/24-bit and compressed with flac. No other pp. Edirol r-09 settings: low cut: off, mic gain: low, agc: off. Recorded on june 15, 2012 in åkersberga, sweden.

A drowsy, warm lazy hot day in mid-summer in the forest of the midwestern usa. As is the case around mid-july, the birds are not singing as much. Perhaps they are just exhausted from raising a family and wilting from the heat. The insect chorus ebbs and flows, like the ocean waves creeping up on the beach, and retreating back. Except, unlike the ocean which never stops moving, the insects will eventually stop singing and hibernate for the winter. I have always loved the sound of propeller-driven planes and their slow, molasses-like sound. That sound has always induced a melancholy touch to the recordings. To me, this drowsing plane symbolizes change -- even though the birds and plants are still in full growth, the end is near. . . In about four more weeks schools will resume, the emphasis for many will turn inward. Leaving the woods to deal with the transition. The droning plane, like ocean waves, symbolize change. . . In several months there woods will be drastically changed. Recording made on july 18, 2022 using sound devices mixpre 6 and the sennheiser mkh 8020 omnidirectional microphone. Enjoy this peaceful ambiance, and hopefully it will trigger some long-past memories for you.

Studio technologies - stereo simulator (generation ii). Https://studio-tech. Com/products/generation-ii-stereo-simulator/. The generation ii stereo simulator from studio technologies creates a convincing stereo imagefrom a mono audio source. The fully mono-compatible signal simulates space withoutreverberation by using random, non-recursive filter techniques. The mode switch (found on the hardware unit) controls the overall sound of the generation ii. In the music position, the full audio bandwidth of the input signal is simulated. This mode isappropriate for audio material with little or no voice-only content. In the music & voice position, the input signal is sent through a band-reject filter prior togetting sent to the simulator circuits. This creates stereo simulation over the low and highfrequency range, while limiting simulation in the voice band. This mode is appropriate for audiomaterial that contains voice-only content, such as a film track or television show. The stereo intensity control determines the amount of stereo simulation that is produced. Inthe fully counterclockwise position (ir files “0” – included for process comparison), no simulatedstereo is produced. The mono input signal is sent equally to the left and right outputs. As thecontrol is turned clockwise (ir files “1 – 6”), the amount of stereo simulation increases.

This is the audible annunciation found at all intersections with traffic lights in paris, france. It announces the condition of the traffic lights for pedestrians who are blind or with impaired vision. The annunciation is turned on by pressing a button on the traffic light pole. When the crosswalk sign is red (do not cross), the recorded annunciation is always "rouge piéton" ("red light, pedestrian"), followed by the name of the street that the crosswalk crosses (in this case "rue d'antin," the quiet side street where i recorded this). This repeats over and over until the crosswalk changes to green, at which point there is a two-second trill tone followed by a repeating bell tone. The bell tone is one bell, followed by two bells, repeated four times, followed by a very brief pause, and then the sequence is repeated again. This continues until the crosswalk changes back to red, at which point the "rouge piéton" message resumes. The annunciation continues for at least one cycle of the traffic lights and then stops, unless the button is pressed again. The audio quality of the annunciation is very poor even in real life (it sounds like a wax cylinder recording or something), and can be difficult to understand. This recording accurately captures the poor quality of the annunciation. The volume of the annunciation is also adjusted dynamically based on ambient noise, so there is a slight change in volume on this recording as the system apparently reacts to noise from traffic or something. There is a weak background noise that sounds like some sort of machine, but it wasn't coming from the traffic light and i don't know the source. The recording starts with the crosswalk red, then at about 18. 3 seconds it changes to green, then it changes back to red at about 53 seconds. A car passes at around 48 seconds. Recorded with a zoom h4n, stereo 96 khz / 24 bits, built-in mics, from about ten inches below the tiny speaker in the crosswalk sign housing.

Classic hip-hop sample! if not mistaken, originally from the song u. F. O. By esg in 1981. Commonly used in hip-hop tracks in the golden era (mid-80's until mid 90's). As a a classic hip-hop sample, it's de facto public domain. It's been used so many times by so many artists through the years.
